The Owl’s Corner: Invasive Species

What is the best way to handle

invading animals and plants from other parts of the world?

Sylvie asks:

Being an ecologist, I am regularly confronted by invasive species, as new plant and animal species are regularly introduced into new, foreign environments by human activities, and will cause important damages and kills. So I wonder about how the beings want us to react.

  1. Is it our responsibility to restore balance by moving or (quite often) kill the invaders?
  2. Would the animals and plants cope alone with the problem, and let the nature take care of it, knowing that maybe hundreds of individual will die?

I find it very difficult to decide what to do for helping and would like to know what animals and plants are feeling about this.

Thanks.

Are animals leaving the Earth is larger numbers these days?

And is there a special significance in this?

Nancy asks:

I am not sure what to make of this. I value your opinion and wonder what your thoughts are.

I find many of the animals are leaving this planet. My clients and myself have lost more than what I would think is normal.

I have lost 3 beloved animal family members in 12 months....one 5 days ago, very suddenly and unexpectedly.

Of course, Skye left us last August, but as you may remember, she was very clear that she was here working on the earth grids for 14 years.

Thanks for your input.

Hunting is still a way of life for many humans. Is there a way to hunt for our food and still honor the animals?

Emily asks:

I'm interested in hunting this year and I want to get a turkey and a deer. I have the book Animal Voices and I looked at it a bunch, but I guess my question is this:

If I ask the animal if I can use his/her body,
how will I know what the answer is?

I'm also looking into a sort of Native American way of honoring their spirit and body before and after the hunt.

I guess, to answer my own question, would be for me to just honor the animal and trust my intuition.

I've never hunted before but I would like to experience it.

I'm wondering if you had any thoughts or ideas about the process of respecting/honoring the animal.

Thanks!
Em
